Crafty Creations Challenges - 323

Hi Everyone,
Today is the start of our new challenge over at Crafty Creations Challenges - 323.  The theme of our challenge is Use a Number. Well the first thing that came to my mind was a birthday card and I decided to make one for a young child.

I thought the number 2 was perfect for the balloons.

The sponsor for our current challenge is

And they have the Cutest digital images and a great selection.
Hope you check them out

Let me show you how this card was assembled

I started out with designer paper that I cut to be the panel on the purple card base.
I loved the flowers and the swirls and that became my inspiration,
but I wanted to add a little more purple.

So I hand cut some curved pieces out of purple card stock that I had in my saved papers.
So there was some of the extra purple I wanted

And I attached those curved pieces to the card front.

Next I wanted to have 3-D  flowers on the card.
I had just picked up some white flowers in the bargain bin at Michael's,
however and they were just one size and they were white.

I sponged orange ink on the flowers and cut the petals on some of the flowers
to make some of the flowers smaller,
After looking at this card for a while I decided there was just too much orange,
so I used a small flower die and made some purple flowers to tone down all that orange.

All of the flowers have been placed over the flower images on the paper.

Next I colored my Cute As A Button image and fussy cut him out.
I added some feathers to the edges of Huey. (Not sure if you can see them.)
I also gave the balloons some dimension and added the number 2 on them.
Added the Happy Birthday sentiment to the top - and that finished the card.

Here is a closer view of this cute digi.
I colored him with colored pencils and blended it out with gamsol.

    What Cancer Cannot Do

    Hello everyone
Cancer is a disease that is so prevalent today and I think everyone has a family member or knows of someone that has been affected by cancer in some way.

Verses Rubber Stamps sent me this stamp that speaks of cancer. After reading it, I had to leave it sit for a while so that I could get a design idea. Well it finally came to me, I wanted to use some cut out/lacy dies, a doily type die and a label type shape. Layering all these cut out pieces is exactly what I had in mind.

Let me show an even closer view of the sentiment.

I love this sentiment because it lists what cancer cannot do.

I love this stamp and its perfect to use on a card and send to someone battling this disease.

You can order this online and have it shipped to you if you can't find this stamp at your local stamp store. Click here to order.

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - Challenge 40

    Hi there,
It's time for Challenge #40  at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.
As always the theme is Anything Goes.

Let me share my project with you.

The sponsors for the challenge are

    and

I am using the image Freehand Butterfly 1  from A Day For Daisies.
This butterfly choice comes with 2 images -
    With this purchase you will receive two Digital Stamps of a lovely butterfly;
one image is impressed with music notes and one without.
    I used the one without.

I decided to print the image out onto designer paper and
I also decided to copy a dictionary page out onto card stock
and then printed another butterfly image out onto that dictionary CS.

Since the butterfly is a really open image it lends itself to mixed media of sorts. I decided that some stencil designs would be a perfect addition to the butterflies and to the background of the card, too. White paint worked well on the pink butterfly and alcohol markers was a perfect choice for the circles on the black & white butterfly.

Over the weekend I bought a new Tim Holtz Sizzix  Alterations die set. It is called Mixed Media #3. and I used the letters in the alphabet portion to add the sentiment.

The font on this alphabet set is really interesting and
some letters are quite different and are a little hard to decipher.

I love this sentiment - "Hope is never lost."

    Having a Ducky Day

    Welcome back everyone!!!
Today is the 1st Tuesday on the month. The Craft-Dee BowZ designers post on Tuesdays and I usually post on the 1st Tuesday of the month.

This month the sponsor is Robyn's Fetish. They have a great selection of digital images to choose from so I think there is something for everyone. Click here to browse her store

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More is proud to sponsor this challenge.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib.  Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.

Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award 3 digital stamps of the winner’s choice to the winner of this challenge.

Seems I am into animals this month so I chose a darling duck to use on my project.

I decided to show a momma and her babies. That's the great thing with digi stamps, you can enlarge or decrease the size to get the look you want. I had a cattails die in my stash and also a die to cut grass, so I was off to make this adorable card.

The bow on todays card is another layered stacked bow. but this one is just 2 layers (loops) but the tails from the band around the card and the tails from the two layers make the bow look bigger.
    Lets take a closer look

See, just two loops, but lots of tails, that makes this bow look fluffy and bigger than it really is.

    MEOW

    Welcome back everyone,

I have been quiet lately, been getting ready for Stampaway. I will be teaching classes on Wed. and Thurs. and doing a M&T at the booth of  Simply Said Rubber Stamps on Friday evening. Busy busy. LOL

I have 3 posts all in a row  for you this week, and this is the first one.

And since this is August 1, and that means it's time for the new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ. Their challenges are 1 month long and the theme is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow
. I love that theme- it leaves that creative door wide open (so to speak)

Another thing I love is cats and I have had cats in my life since I was 3 years old.
So when I spied this sweet image I just had to have it!!!

Have you checked out that bow??
Its what I call a triple layered stacked bow.
Here is a closer view of the bow.

The card is a 5"X7" size and I wanted the bow to be prominent but not overpowering.
So I thought the layered bow was perfect. It is about 5" long on that bottom ribbon layer and then the next two layers are a little shorter on each layer,
and you know this bow is so easy to make with the Craft-Dee BowZ tool.

Don't have one - you can order your very own here
