Food and Drink - New post at Crafty Creations Challenges

Hello and thanks for stopping in today

The Crafty Creations Challenges has started their new challenge and the theme this time is Something to Eat or Drink. This challenge is a 2 week challenge so you have time to get your creation made and submitted. We are looking forward to seeing your submission.

The sponsor for this challenge is  Fresh Brewed Designs
They have a wonderful selection of digital images to choose from. Please check them out

Since the theme is Something to Eat or Drink,
I chose to use a the Birthday Cupcake design from their great selection of images.

I had some ideas as soon as I spied this calorie free delight.

First I printed this out 4 times on my white card stock. Then I fussy cut just the cupcake paper from 2 of the images. Next I scored the lines and accordion folded both of those cupcake paper images. After that, I glued one end to the other to make the paper longer. I colored the cupcake paper, a pinkish color and then attached each end over the base on the 3rd image. then I attached the center area to the base and now the cupcake paper looks like a real cupcake base.

Next to make the icing look somewhat realistic, I used a snow marker, and heated it and it puffed up and looks like icing - sort of.

After that I attached flat back pink pearls in the circle areas. For the candle I cut one out  and then cut a slit in the top of the cupcake and slid it in. I colored the flame and added glitter to add a little sparkle.

So here is the cupcake ready for the card.

Here is the cupcake on the card.
I used some pastel papers to make the card background

And here is a close up of the cupcake on the finished card.

This image was a lot of fun to use  and will be a cute Happy Birthday card for a child (or even a grown-up) I think!!

    It's A Watercolor Weekend

    Welcome back,

I have a few cards that I need to make and send off, Since I hadn't used my Art Impressions water color stamps lately, I decided to make a few different water color cards.

Over the next few days I will share the other cards that I will be sending off to their destinations.

I learned the technique of water coloring the Art Impressions way, many years ago. And it is a really fun and easy technique.

Years ago, the Marvy ink pads and markers were the inks to use but sadly those are no longer available. Yes I still have some of those in my stash (they have not dried out yet) but I wanted to test the Distress Ink pads and markers to see if they were a good substitute. I figured they would be and I was not disappointed.

Let my card me share my card -

Those gray stones at the bottom of the urn, I hand drew those in to give a little more interest to the bottom of the stamped image..

I just love doing this technique
Please  look for more water color cards this week.

Hearts - New Post for Crafty Creations Challenger

    Hello Bloggers
    Thanks for stopping by today

Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Crafty Creations Challenge and the theme is Hearts, perfect for Valentines Day. It will be here in less than two weeks.

The sponsor for this challenge is Robyn's Fetish.
Love their digital images. Check out their great selection here.

Since the theme is hearts I decided to use Tilly the Toad. Check out her heart dimples.
And she is a cutie, for sure.

I decided she would be at home on a lily pad sitting next to a water lily.

I hand drew the lily pad and used sunflower blooms to fashion into the water lily flower. I used some DP's and added a dark green heart in keeping with the heart theme. The sentiment is something I came up with and added those little red hearts to make the sentiment oh so special.

    February Craft-Dee BowZ Challenge

    Hi Bloggers

and it's the start of the monthly challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.
Their challenge is always Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow.

This month their sponsor is Cute As A Button
and the winner will receive 2 single digital images.
We'd love to see your entry.
Hope you can join in the fun

In the meantime let me share my Craft-Dee BowZ inspiration project

For the background on this card, I used a Cover a Card stamp from Impression Obsession. I stamped it with VersaMark and used clear EP and heat set it. OK so that's not a big deal, right? Well after I did that, I used foil on the embossed image with the use of my laminating machine.
    Worked like a champ.

Here is a close up of  my multi-loop bow.

That bow is so easy to make with the Craft-Dee BowZ tool

This great tool is all you need to make  a bow.
A bow for your card, for your scrapbook, for a gift, for a ..... you know for lots of different things.
