Where Flowers Bloom

Hello Everyone,
Gee it seems like it's been forever since I posted. I have been so busy. I traveled to Boston and was gone for 1 1/2 weeks visiting and taking classes. Then home for one day then gone for another 3 days, traveling to Tenn. to teach 3 classes. Whew, what a whirlwind of 2 weeks. Now that I am back I have planned more classes over at Simply Said Rubber Stamps.

I am getting ready to start putting together class kits for the 3 classes that I will be teaching at Stampaway in August. Below are my classes:

 Wed, Aug 5 @ 11:00 - 1:00 Chalkboard Cards
Wed. Aug 5 @ 4:30 - 7:30  Multi Pocket Mini Album
 Friday Aug 7 @ 8:00 am  - 11:00 Two Folds Tag Book

Click here to go to the class section at Stampaway for more info and pics of class samples

OK Enough of what I have been doing class wise. Let me share with you a card that I just finished.

I tried out a relatively new product and I love this. It's called Color Burst and its from Ken Oliver. Talk about a great product.  I used the product on a watercolor panel then I cut the panel into 1/2" strips and put together this card alternating the color strips with plain white strips.

I added flowers to the center and attached a sentiment to the bottom. The largest flower is a store bought product however the other flowers are my handmade creations.

Hope you get a chance to try and buy Color Burst. Its a highly pigmented powder and it really gives you absolutely gorgeous and colorful results.

    Barbara (You are here)

Well I am the last designer for this month's blog hop. Have you had fun and seen some really beautiful cards and cool ideas?? I hope so.

For this blog hop, our theme is Living on the Edge -  use border dies

Let me share my card with you.

Three different border dies and an oval die make the back drop for the front of this card.

Next I stamped this cute Sherri Baldy My Besties Stamp image and used an oval die to cut it out.I used the Cutting Outside the Die technique. If you are not familiar with the how-to's of this cool technique, click here to watch a You Tube for directions.

I also added dimension to the wings. I stamped another set of wings onto vellum colored the new set of wings and cut them out then attached them over the original stamped image.

Here are two close ups of the wings.

My Bow - First I added a ribbon to the card and tied a knot and left tails about 2 " in length. For this card I used a ivory ribbon and attached it to the card front, Next using my Craft-Dee BowZ tool I made a larger single loop bow and then I made a smaller single loop bow using my magenta ribbon. I stacked the smaller loop bow on top of the larger loop bow and placed these two bows on top of the cream ribbon knot. Now using the tails of the cream ribbon, tie the magenta bows together and pull the cream tails really tight to ensure the bow is secure.Trim the tails of the magenta bows and the cream ribbon and you now have a fluffy double loop bow with a cream knot.

Here is the tool that makes it so easy to make yummy fluffy bows.

    Thinking of You

    Hello
Thank you for stopping in today. Today is the 1st Tuesday of the month and it's my turn to post for Craft-Dee BowZ. The theme for all of us designers for this month is "Thinking of You"

Recently I received a few new dies and thought I'd use them in this card.

Here are a few other shots of this card showcasing different parts of the card.

Here is the bird cage - Gilded Birds by Memory Box

Also I used Florina Corner also by Memory Box - however after cutting the image I decided to use different piece parts in different areas of the card. So I cut it up to give me the various flowers for the different areas of the card.
I made the dimensional flowers using a Martha Stewart punch - 3 in 1 Hydrangea

Last but certainly not least is the bow.
I started out using a single loop bow, but it looked naked. LOL so I added smaller single loop over the top of the original bow and this bow turned out to be really fluffy.

Thanks for stopping in and have a great week.

My Projects for Mema's Crafts for April

    April Theme - Anything Goes

    Hi Everyone
    Welcome to April!!!

This month Mema's Crafts has two sponsors, Stitchy Bear's Digital Outlet and Rick St. Dennis

Easter is over but I thought I'd share with you an Easter card I made for a friend, even though it's late in the game, so to speak.

My Easter card is using the cutest bunny image and it's a Stitchy Bear Digital Stamp called Bunny Blu. As soon as I spied this cute bunny I knew I just had to use it on my card.

My second card is using a darling little girl from Rick St. Dennis
This digital image is called Pollyanna

Please click here for more pictures and additional informational information for both cards.

    Thank You

    Hi  Everyone

It's April 1 and its a new month and time for another new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.

Below is the card that I created for the Craft-Dee BowZ inspiration and it's also on the CDB blog site as well.

If you're like me, I have rubber stamps (mounted and unmounted), clear stamps and digital images. So it seems I have a lot of images to choose from. I decided to go thru some of my digtal images and came across this one.(The flower and the butterfly are all one image) I am sorry but I do not know where this came from. I colored it with colored pencils and used Gamsol to blend the colors.

I guess I chose this image because it reminds me of spring, but spring seems to be slow in coming this year.

I used designer papers and added a punched border strip and layered the panel onto the card.

I attached my bow to the panels before layering them on the card front.

Before I forget - Craft-Dee BowZ is hosting a blog hop starting at 10:00 p.m. edt Thursday April 16. We hope you will join us and find inspiration in all of the projects that the designers will be showing off. The designers theme is Living On The Edge - Use a Border Die. Now that sounds like a great theme and lots of fun inspiration.
