Amy's Layer Cake Collage Class

Hi Everyone
Just a quick post to show you a collage piece that I made in a class I attended yesterday. The class was called Amy's Layer Cake Collage and was held at Stamping Buddies.

This was a super class and I was so happy with the finished piece.

The instructor, Amy Flowers, is from the Columbus, Ohio area. I have taken quit a few of her classes over the years and I have learned so much from her.She is really great!! Thanks Amy for another fabulous class.

This piece consists of many layers of papers matte medium, acrylic paints and Pan Pastels. And we also used sticky backed canvas, painted it and then traced designs on to the canvas using stencils and I cut them out and stuck them onto the piece (the leafy designs).

The butterflies were from DP scrapbook paper while the music notes, keys and the words are from a pre-printed tissue weight paper.I added a few circles for more interest.I dipped a small bottle top into acrylic paint and used it as a stamp.

This piece is on a canvas stretched over a frame and ready to adorn a wall in my home.

Hope you had a good time checking out the end result of my class yesterday.

Have a great week.

I am submitting my art piece in the following challenges
Since this is not a card and contains no stamped images if it disqualifies me from a challenge, I totally understand. Hope you enjoy the artwork.

With Love

Hi Everyone,
Last week I was really busy getting ready for my class last Saturday over at Simply Said Rubber Stamps, so I was MIA for a while. I will be sharing with you later this week, the 2 cards that I taught in my class.

Today's card uses a stamp from a  Penny Black stamp set that I just bought. The whole stamp set is gorgeous.Four different flowers and dragonflies and a butterfly are in this set.

Don't know if you have used Gelato's yet, Oh my. I love them. On this card I used the gelato's to make the background and to color the flowers as well. Gelato's are a fun and fabulous coloring product.

My techniques class in July at Simply Said Rubber Stamps will be spotlighting these versatile little lipstick-like tubes of yummy colors. It's going to be a fun class, for sure

I took pictures of my card getting prepared for this post and in reviewing the pics, my card felt somewhat naked without a bow, so I added one to finish off my card. So now the card looks finished to me.

LET ME SHARE WITH YOU THE SUPPLIES  I USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps: Penny Black - Flower Festival
Paper/Card Stock
: Yellow CS, White CS, DP
Ink: Memories Black
AccessoriesSeam Binding, Craft-Dee BowZ  tool,  Gelato's,  Beads, Hat pin

    Noel

    Hi Everyone!!
Thanks for stopping in today. I just received a few new stamps and I especially wanted to stamp this particular stamp and design a card.

I live in Kentucky and the state bird is the cardinal and they are the state bird in the following states as well: Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. WOW that's a lot of states that have adopted this bird as their state bird.

OK you probably have guessed I am using a cardinal in my design.

This stamp is from Stampendous, and I just love it. I used a Becca Feeken ornate label die that she used to offer in a kit club. I actually cut it down the center attached 3 halves together and made a swirly edge for my layered oval, on the one side and used a single piece of that die on the other side as an offset.

The cardinals are colored with colored pencils and I used gamsol as my blending agent.

I decided these cardinals reminded me of Christmas so I added the Christmas sentiment. I know we are not quite thru the first half of the year. but you know that Christmas will be here before we know it. LOL

    SUPPLIES USED ON MY PROJECT
Stamps:  Stampendous - Jumbo Cardinals, My Sentiments Exactly - Multi Script (Sentiment)
    Paper/Card Stock
    : Cream, White, Red, Gold
    Ink: Black Dye
Dies Used:Memory Box - Blushing Bouquet , Spellbinders - Large Ovals, Becca Feeken Ornate Label (No longer available)
    Accessories
dimensional foam, Inktense Colored Pencils, Gamsol, Spectrum Noir (coloring the blossoms on the die cut) Wink of Stella - Pink (colored the flower centers on die cut)

    Fairies and Butterflies

    Hi There
Glad you stopped in today. For today's card I thought I'd use a fairy image that I've had in my stash for a good while. It's from Crafter's Companion and I love this one. She reminds me of a garden nymph. The colors for the Craft-Dee BowZ projects presented by the designers this month are to include shades of aqua, so you will see that color all month long in the Craft-Dee BowZ projects..

I used a designer paper and cut a panel and added a wide gathered lace piece to the mid section of the panel. I added a thin light turquoise ribbon to the edge of that lace. Over that I used 2 overlapped embossed ovals and I added ribbon to the center of the ovals and attached them to the card. Next I attached another oval, in turquoise, centering over the other ovals.  I then attached my fairy to the center oval. Next, I made a single loop bow using white organza ribbon. On top of that I added a double loop satin bow.

Here is a closer shot of that bow.

I had the prettiest aqua flowers ready to be used so I decided to add them to the bow, ringing the center area. I added a few sprigs and a few butterflies in the upper left corner of the card, and the card is done.

    Thinking of You

Welcome to June!!! And welcome to my blog!!!

WOW do you believe it, it's June 1. Awesome isn't it. Summer is really closing in fast.

This month at Craft-Dee BowZ there is a Blog Hop starting Wednesday June 4 at 10:00 p.m. EDT. This month's blog hop is being sponsored by The Paper Nest Dolls. The prize - $25.00 gift certificate to the Paper Nest Dolls store. We hope you can attend.

The theme this month at Craft-Dee BowZ for the designers, is Fairies and Butterflies and the primary color is shades of aqua. What a great theme and love that color. The design team have some special projects in store for you. So I hope you stop in at the Craft-Dee BowZ blog each Tuesday. My post will be Tuesday June 3. I'd love it if you could stop back.

Since it's June 1, let me share with you the inspiration project I made for the challenge post over at Craft-Dee BowZ.

Don't you love that teal blue color. I used a stamp that's been in my stash for eons. It's from Fiskars and I just love this stamp. I covered the image with a blue Gelato and spritzed it with a quick water spray. Then I stamped it off and reinked the stamp with Rusty Nail. When I stamped the image again it gave me that rusty look with a bit of the leftover blue Gelato. It was just the look I was after.

Oh that teal background panel is stamped with a Unity Stamp from the Layers of Life stamp set for May. I used VersaMark for the water mark look.

That bow - I made a double loop bow using a wider white sheer and layered that teal ribbon on top (triple loop bow). That flower next to the bow is a teal and rusty color combo.Love it. More lace and ribbon layering under the stamped image. If you are bow challenged, then I have the perfect tool for you.

This tool is the best bow maker on the market. Easy to use and it takes up just a small amount of space, plus the metal pegs are stored inside the tool. You can order one here.
